Terms of Service

Last updated August 2026

SecureLink is Windows software, published by the operator of alexsecurelink.com ("we," "us"), that runs on your own computer and lets you send documents as password-gated, self-destructing links. This page covers the terms for using the software and any paid credits or account features. It doesn't cover the content you choose to share — that's entirely yours, and it never passes through our servers in a form we can read.

What the software does and doesn't do

SecureLink serves documents directly from your PC through an encrypted tunnel. We do not host, store, or have access to the documents you share, the people you share them with, or what they do while reading. The app's own in-product copy is the source of truth for what any given feature actually does — where this page and the app disagree, the app's plain-language explanation of a feature governs.

No uptime guarantee. A link only works while your computer is on and connected. The free "quick tunnel" mode is explicitly not production infrastructure and can be less reliable than a configured permanent domain. We don't promise a link will always be reachable.

The self-destruct ends access, not memory. Once someone has read, screenshotted, printed, or remembered something, no software — ours or anyone else's — can undo that. The countdown and the crypto-erase are real and enforced on our end; they can't reach into someone else's device.

The e-signature feature is a technical record, not certified e-signature software. It captures a name, an optional drawn image, an IP address, and a timestamp as evidence someone took a signing action. It is not a substitute for legal advice on whether that satisfies e-signature requirements for your situation.

Accounts, credits, and payment

Some features require a free account (an email address and a one-time code — no password, no data beyond what's needed to run the ledger). Free accounts receive a monthly allotment of link credits at no cost. Additional credits, or a membership, can be purchased through Stripe. We never see or store your card details — Stripe handles that directly.

Credit packs don't expire. A membership renews automatically until you cancel it; canceling stops the next renewal but doesn't refund the current period. See the refund policy for the specifics.

Acceptable use

Don't use SecureLink to distribute content that's illegal to distribute, to send documents to people who haven't agreed to receive them from you, or to try to circumvent the credit/account system. We reserve the right to suspend an account used for either of the above.

No warranty

The software is provided as-is. We make a real effort to keep it secure and working as described, but we don't warrant it will be error-free or available at any particular time. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim related to the software or the paid credit system is limited to what you actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date; continued use after a change means you accept the update.
